Leer South Mine is a longwall operation that produces high-quality High-Vol A metallurgical coal, with proven and probable reserves totaling approximately 57 million tons. The property’s mining history dates back to 1973 when it originally operated as the Kitt No. 1 Mine. Development of the Clarion seam began in 2006 under the Sentinel Mine project, which was later renamed Leer South in 2020. The mine utilizes one longwall system and supports efficient distribution to domestic and international markets via rail.
